Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray has confirmed that the club will be signing new players in the coming days. The Championship side currently sit in sixth place after two fixtures, following a strong start to the season. As the transfer window approaches its final week, Rovers have signed just three new players, but Mowbray says the squad will be strengthened with one or two more recruits.
"That will change over the days we have left," Mowbray told the Lancashire Post. "Things are happening today, I hope. Over the next week, I think things will speed up. There needs to be one or two outs first and then we can fill those spaces. I’m very sure that will happen."
He added that he is not "stamping my feet about it too much" and that bringing in one or two players would help the team. If the signings do not materialise, he said the team has shown it can dig in and work together.
Mowbray’s comments come as the club looks to add depth to a squad that has been performing well in the early part of the campaign. The transfer window’s final week is a busy period for clubs across the Championship, and Blackburn Rovers appear ready to act.
