Blackburn Rovers defender Tom Atcheson had a memorable first senior international start for Northern Ireland. He scored the only goal in a 1-0 friendly win over Guinea.

What happened?

Atcheson headed in a ninth-minute cross from West Bromwich Albion's Isaac Price. His night took a turn for the worse 18 minutes from the end.

The incident

Atcheson was sent off for dragging down Guinea's Abdoul Karim Traore. He had made his senior debut for Northern Ireland as a substitute in a 1-1 draw with Wales in March.

What's next?

Northern Ireland meet France in their second friendly on Monday. Atcheson had signed an extended contract with Blackburn Rovers in April. The 19-year-old will hope to build on his impressive debut.
