Blackburn Rovers are set to start a new season with Jayden Fevrier, who has joined the team after a successful loan spell at Charlton Athletic. The 23-year-old wide man is eager to hit the ground running and help the team push on in the Championship.
Fevrier spent the second half of last season on loan at Charlton Athletic, scoring twice in 11 games to help the Addicks secure safety. Now, he begins a new chapter at Ewood Park and is excited to be back with the club he grew up loving.
'I grew up as a kid loving football and growing up, Blackburn was always one of the big teams that you hear,' Fevrier told the club. 'When I found out they were interested, I was like, 'Wow, this is the team that won the Premier League before and had so many great, amazing players'. That's what kind of enticed me into coming in here.'
Fevrier is joined by a couple of familiar faces in the squad, including Dapo Afolayan and Ryan Alebiosu. 'I played with Dapo before at West Ham and I know Ryan just from being younger and just being around the area,' he explained. 'It's good. I've been the new kid at a few places, and I think it's better when you know someone, you can get integrated quickly.'
The new recruit is determined to make the most of his opportunities and prove himself in the Championship. 'I'm very determined,' he said. 'I think there was always a plan for me to come back up through the leagues and thanks to God, I'm able to do that with this move as well.'
Blackburn Rovers are currently 20th in the Championship table, 52 points behind the leaders Coventry. They will face Burton in their first game of the new season next Saturday.
