Tony Mowbray might have as many as four players available again for Blackburn Rovers' upcoming league game against Cardiff City at Ewood Park. The manager indicated these possible comebacks would add important depth to his options, with the team aiming to better a recent record of just one victory in five matches.
A clearer picture of the squad will be given by Mowbray during his Thursday media briefing. The individuals involved are Scott Wharton, Augustus Kargbo, Mathias Jorgensen, and Andri Gudjohnsen. Wharton completed sixty minutes for the development side recently without issue. Kargbo played and found the net in a match last week following a lengthy absence. Jorgensen is progressing in his rehabilitation, and Gudjohnsen, who netted a pair of goals for his country recently, is due to resume training on Thursday.
If these players are fit, the number of sidelined individuals at the club would fall to four. Yuki Ohashi and Yuri Ribeiro are still unavailable, while Adam Forshaw's status is unclear and Lewis Miller hopes to be back around the festive period. Blackburn, positioned in the middle of the league table, will rely on their leading marksman Oladapo Afolayan, who has found the net on several occasions this campaign. The fixture begins at three o'clock on Saturday afternoon.
